The Devil Wears Nike

By Wild Ice

There I stood at the center of everyone trying to impersonate the Terror of the whole campus. And SHE WAS THERE, WATCHING ME while I claimed my IMPERSONATOR OF THE YEAR award that Christmas season. I tried what I could but I couldn’t move anymore—SHE WAS THERE!! She shook her head and told me that I was not good enough to impersonate her. Hehehe…

I made sure that I post this article, she’s out of my life. If you happen to know whom I’m talking about, she had been the topic of my blogs about agony when I was a college student whom I hid by the name of “Prof M” (Professor Mischievous). Being the most terror of all professors in the campus, she became our teacher for two years straight (she loves us, I guess)…

Under her, my classmates and I had gone through all challenges and grief as we strived for justice!----I mean freedom!---I mean for our grades and learning. Not a single day was spared for a little sermon. Everyday we hope that she would not arrive in our classroom or that she would not be late. It even came to a point that we were praying because we wanted the class to go well with her on that day. Some friendships were even tested. And even on stormy days, we were forced to go out of our houses to finish, print and bind our compilations for her because we were thinking that even if there is a suspension of classes, She might require us to pass her requirement (redundant?).

Another interesting fact about her is the way she dresses. There are only a few times she dressed well—and many a time she dressed to try hard to create some impression (bad impression is more how it seemed)… I can’t forget the outfit she once wore at the time she made almost all of us in class get out of the room for not being prepared enough: White shirt, long denim skirt with very high slits, and rubber shoes. I tagged her then as “The Devil Wears Nike”.

Her reminder: Be always prepared before you come to the classroom. We do our best to prepare but there are so many times that the topic which we expected to talk about on those days is not what she would discuss. And then there are times that she would become inconsistent of her statements (like when she said she had a photographic memory then she said after a few months that she doesn’t)… She was also the cause why people in our course would be seen running in the campus in haste. She would also be the reason why a huge crowd causes a hullabaloo and commotion over a sheet of paper for attendance.

Many stories are still not shared regarding this matter. But for now, let me end my article by saying that even if we had such fun and pleasant times with her, still we were able to learn things besides her lessons. I learned to be always prepared, and I believe in her training because it made me stronger because there can be such person as her in the outside world… So I know now how to deal with such creature—I mean person. I also learned why she required some stuff for us—that those things are either for our own good or for her ease when she grades us (techniques we teachers could also use). So, okay, yeah, she was good in some sense. But the agony usually dominates our memory about her.

Let The Countdown Begin

By Wild Ice

Students find the opportunity to ask their teachers some personal questions when the teacher runs out of things to say, especially if the lesson is over and there is a free time before the next period arrives. I was caught in one event when out of the blue a student asked me, “Do you really want to become a teacher?” I had an immediate answer but I had to parry the question to avoid any issue.

Months have passed and as the days make me grow, I grow tired of working. No, not generally about working but particularly about my work as an educator. I’ve said this over and over again and I will state once more: This is not really my dream job. It just so happened that I graduated on this profession and then I had to find an immediate job. So here it is… But here I am; exhausted.

There isn’t any job that is not really tiring. But this one forces out all of my complaints because I don’t really love what I’m doing. I like in some way like for example, I get to meet different sorts of human characteristics (my favorite subject!). I get to observe a lot about this generation. AND also, I get to teach them to communicate AND to MAKE SENSE WITH THEIR LIVES (especially my homeroom). But this is not my passion. Teaching is a very NOBLE (MOST NOBLE, I may say) profession. Teaching is a door that welcomes its pupils to great opportunities of exploring the world. But this is not for me.

What? I’ll end up becoming a call-center agent? … No, it’s not a profession and is never part of my dreams. But maybe for some financial reason, yeah, why not? But I want more. I want to pursue my passion in writing, in song writing, in photography, and many more arts mostly connected to the media.

I’ll get there someday. I’m glad when people I know are living their dreams already—because I wish I was strong enough to do so for myself. But I’ll get there… It starts NOW….

Anniversary: A Year of Fun, Humor, Betrayals and Gummy Worms

By Wild Ice

Yesterday, my spouse and I could not believe it has already been a year. Maybe because we always see each other. But what awe us are the challenges that we have faced all throughout the year of being together. So many trials troubled our bond to try and break us, the very recent has just ended last night (an argument that really had nothing to do with us but people just made us involve for shallow reasons)..

It's been a year!!! Out of all the things that had come between us (the jeepneys, the storm, the old people, the friends-betrayal, and even a simple gummy worm), it is the faith with each other that kept this relationship going. We all have heard of such relationship as ours and they are mostly focused on sex and infidelity. But ours is different. We are serious though we started so sudden. It is even funny how we realized that we were connected years before we met:

I created a friendster account of Samara Morgan because I was a huge fan of the movie The Ring. Then, I invited friends and my Baby (without even knowing each other then) was one of them. I even sent a video comment of the Cursed Video. We were surprised to find that recently. So we had a connection even long before we met. (Just to share, more corns please.)

It was a very long journey already, though it's been only a year. We've gone through places (Laguna--where we practiced almost total freedom with each other, around Makati, Paranaque--where we are sort of 'banned', etc.), We've gone through arguments (from simply going to a mall to buying gummy worms---this became a huge issue actually, too long to mention, from petty fights to issues regarding each other), and we've gone through challenges from outside forces (from kisses of others to flirty monsters and from views of narrow-minded creatures who claim they are 'human beings who are perfect' to betrayals of 'friends'). Now we step on another level. We know there will be more challenges. But we assure each other that at the end, there will still be the two of us left standing.

Happy anniversary BABY!!!!

Sick of These Posts

By Wild Ice
This is the stereotypical way I blog: I talk about love---how happy I am about it, how good it feels... It's very in line with the usual blogs I read in the net ('how this cute person approaches me', 'I have a stalker', 'this person's into me', and many more blah-blah-blah's they also have).. Also, I usually blog about my anger.. hmmmm... not usually, but always... It is already a flea in the ear... But I can't help but express it through writing... It feels good releasing it into the page... But it looks terrible looking at it in my archives.
What am I trying to point out in this post? That I also know how stereotypical I become sometimes!! I always point out this person and that person being too boring, too MEDIOCRE, too "FABULOUS TO POST ABOUT STUFF WHICH ARE ALWAYS IN THE BANDWAGON".. But I also have my mistakes. You know what they say: "Look at yourself first before pointing to others."
But I did not do this first. At the very least, I still have time to self-reflect, to look at my own self. In this manner, I am able to know what to enhance and what to change.
So regarding those posts which are always cheesy and/or preachy, I'd be glad to tone them down. I'm getting sick of it.

Falling Stars at First Sight

By Wild Ice

It's already a year since that "magical" night when WE first me which I posted in my blog. The blog was mainly about the Meteor Shower which I found out happens yearly since 1986 because of Halley's Comet. It was a very fine night when I was suddenly invited to come out by my friends and suddenly found that beautiful stranger who, all of a sudden, became the source of my eternal blessings.

We were walking everywhere in our town as we sought for a vehicle which would take us to our out-of-town party in Laguna when my friends started teasing me to this special person (because they knew before this happened, I had a crush with this wonderful being)...

And then, as we stood there in midnight, we all saw that flash of light up on the sky.

It was a meteor.

I'm not into fairy tales nor cheesy stuff but there was no harm of wishing upon it so I made a quick wish. And so, here we are... about to reach our anniversary....

Anyway, here are some more information regarding the meteor shower which again took place last Wednesday:

Spawned by Halley's comet, which last buzzed the planet in 1986, the tiny space rocks are the seeds of the annual Orionid meteor shower.

At its peak before sunrise Wednesday morning, the Orionids shower should produce 20 to 25 meteors an hour—a "relatively decent show," according to astronomer Anita Cochran, of the University of Texas at Austin's McDonald Observatory.

And don't worry if you miss the Wednesday peak: The Orionids are currently being created by a broad stream of debris, which means the best views should be available several nights around the peak, experts say.

Orionids' "Very Recognizable" Region

The Orionids are so named because the meteors appear to radiate from near the constellation Orion, aka the Hunter.

This easily spotted constellation "kind of looks like an hourglass with a very recognizable belt of stars," said astronomer Mark Hammergren of the Adler Planetarium in Chicago.

In addition, "the constellation is visible from pretty much anywhere in the world, because it appears along a line of sight close to the Equator," he said.

Makati Becoming Prone to Crimes??

By Wild Ice

With my earphones booming loud into my ears with the song "Unusual You" by Britney Spears, I was stepping between the tall leaves and grasses in Greenbelt on my way to Greenbelt 5 when a security guard came folllowing my track. It was then that I noticed that there was no one at the place I was heading. Instead, there were long yellow Warning ribbons all round the glamorous mall.

I stopped and turned at the guard who was about to speak to me. I told Britney to sing softer and the security asked me in a very decent manner where I am going . "I'm supposed to go through Greenbelt 5 and into Greenbelt 1," I responded.

"We're so sorry sir but there is an investigation going on in that place," he informed me.

"Really?" We started our way back and away from the abandoned mall and park as I asked some more. "What happened?"

"There was a gun fight just a while ago," said this one-of-the-most-decent security guards I have ever met. "Some robbers committed a hold-up at Rolex."

I was shocked. At such well-secured and high class place??

Then information came wandering through my mind. I have read blogs regarding some modus operandi here at Salcedo village in which they would kidnap people into a van and then leave one nude at some other distant place (the report said the man was left at Laguna)... Then just this past week, my baby saw a hold up in front of St. John Bosco Parish. A guy who happened to pass by was hit accidentally by the bullet of the criminals' guns.

Is Makati becoming a dangerous place to live in? Before, whenever I arrive at Makati after being from another place, I feel safe. Makati had been my home for so many years and I always feel secure whenever I step into this city because there were barely any crimes on the streets. But now... What's happening??? Whatever happened to the security????

Don't Mess With Us

By Wild Ice

As our anniversary comes closer each day, we two as couples experience people who are REALLY DESPERATE to make us separate. It's kind of odd because these people are what we called "friends". Yup!!! IT IS CONFIRMED!! THEY HAVE PLANNED TO DO SOMETHING VERY DESTRUCTIVE TO MAKE US SEPARATE!!! SOOOOOO EVIL!!!

Upon hearing it, I was hyperventilating!! I was yelling at the top of my lungs to the person I was speaking to. Now, I don't want to trust people anymore. There are two of them who are not telling the truth. They keep on pointing fingers to each other. AH SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!

Just this afternoon, the Tiger inside me has once again been released and I was growling everywhere (my baby was even trying to calm me down)... But no!! THIS TIME I WILL NEVER TRUST THEM!!! And once they do something against our relationship, I swear they will feel hell while they are alive!! THEY'LL REGRET WHAT THEY WILL DO!

On the other hand, it's a compliment for us as a couple. Why? Because this proves that they know how strong our relationship is. So they are planning for steps to make us separate---just because of sooo naive shortcomings that we had. What are you---feebleminded??? Thanks for letting us know how strong we are now. Probably, you're becoming jealous for some reason. Just a piece of advice: GET A REAL LOVE LIFE and QUIT FLIRTING WITH OTHERS...

This ends here, "friends"... One more word and I'll BURN YOUR ASSES!! I know you talk behind our backs. I'll make sure you're going to eat shit once you do it again.

You've never seen the worst of me.
